JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems that carry various substances like steam, water, chemicals, or gases in industrial settings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass 6G Welding test

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
  • Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of different piping systems and material
  • Proven ability to perform high-quality welds in either GTAW (Tig) and/or SMAW (stick) welding processes in various positions up to and including 6G

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems that carry various substances like steam, water, chemicals, or gases in industrial settings.
  • Strong understanding of piping systems, materials, and industrial standards
  • Familiarity with a wide range of pipe materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and aluminum
  • Use various tools and equipment, such as welding machines, grinders, torches, and cutting systems
  • Follow established Weld Procedure Specifications and equipment setup within parameters for amperage, voltage, gas flow to cover multiple material types and wall thicknesses
  • Fabricate pipe spools and components as per project requirements using various welding and fitting techniques
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to plan the layout of piping systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards
  • Test piping systems for leaks using methods like hydrostatic testing or air pressure tests
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and industry codes
