Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities are listed below. This associate will perform other duties as required.

90% - Welcome Center Duties:
  • Checks drivers in and out, reviews BOL, makes copy, checks against scheduled arrivals.
  • Verifies seal upon arrival for inbound loads and upon departure for outbound loads; verifies seal number matches bill of lading.
  • Contacts Tasker for door designation for 'hot load'; yard location if a live load; if drop load, gives yard designation.
  • Verifies outbound shipment number and truck schedule with driver.
  • Accepts drop shipments and signs drivers out.
  • Submits bill of lading and supporting documents to the internal and/or external customer.
  • Performs miscellaneous clerical work including answering phones, scanning, data entry, etc.
5% - Communication:
  • Communicates internally with warehouse, office, management, and agency personnel regarding daily activities.
  • Advises the Supervisor, Operations Manager, or Facility Manager of recurrent problems or issues related to current or future orders, carriers, etc.
  • Communicates externally with truck drivers regarding inbound and outbound shipments and trucking firms regarding missed appointments or to report bad trailers.
  • Notifies agency management of any significant employment related issues including attendance.

Maintains self-composure in stressful situations.

5% - Safety:
  • Follows general safety practices and procedures including proper use of PPE and timely reporting of accidents, incidents, or safety concerns.

Participates in monthly safety meetings and spot huddles.

Ensures work areas are free from hazards.
