Job description

Lead the Future of Aerospace Innovation – Join Us as a Senior Mass Properties Engineer!

Location: Englewood, CO | Payrate: $74.19/hour

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire an experienced Senior Mass Properties Engineer. If you're an expert in aircraft weight and balance, mass properties analysis, and large aircraft modification programs, this is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing next-generation aerospace technologies.

As a Senior Mass Properties Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across multiple aerospace programs—from conceptual design studies and rapid-response upgrades to complex aircraft modification initiatives. Your expertise in weight control, center of gravity (CG) analysis, and mass properties reporting will directly support the performance, safety, and certification of advanced aircraft systems.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Mass Properties Engineer, you'll lead critical engineering efforts by:

  • Developing and managing comprehensive weight control plans for large aircraft modification programs.

  • Creating and maintaining mass properties databases to track aircraft weight, center of gravity (CG), and performance estimates throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Supporting conceptual design studies by developing parametric weight estimates and mass properties models.

  • Building mass properties estimates from CAD models and engineering data.

  • Planning, coordinating, and supporting aircraft weighing activities, including required documentation, forms, and charts.

  • Preparing and authoring detailed weight and balance reports for internal stakeholders, customers, and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensuring accurate and timely mass properties reporting across engineering teams, suppliers, and customers.

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support aircraft development, modifications, certification, and sustainment activities.

  • Providing technical guidance and recommendations throughout the design, development, testing, certification, deployment, and support of advanced aerospace systems.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

  • 10 or more years of relevant aerospace engineering experience, including aircraft mass properties and weight and balance analysis.

  • Completion of an Aircraft Weight & Balance Course (computer and practical – AETC or equivalent) within the past three years.

  • Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and aerospace design practices.

  • Deep understanding of SAWE Recommended Practices RP-7 and RP-8.

  • Experience performing aircraft weighing activities and preparing associated forms and documentation.

  • Experience supporting conceptual aircraft design and parametric modeling.

  • Experience developing mass properties estimates using CAD data.

  • Proven experience authoring weight and balance reports.

  • Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary engineering and product development teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automated Weight and Balance System (AWBS) training completed within the past three years.

  • Experience supporting Commercial Derivative Aircraft (CDA) military programs.

  • Proficiency with Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) and/or SolidWorks.

  • Knowledge of:

    • Parametric design

    • Model-Based Definition (MBD)

    • Fundamentals of flight mechanics

    • Industry-standard aerospace engineering principles

  • Background supporting aerospace and defense programs, including work with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) or U.S. military customers.

Ready to Make Your Mark on the Future of Flight?

If you're an experienced Mass Properties Engineer ready to lead complex aircraft programs and contribute to groundbreaking aerospace innovations, we want to hear from you.

Apply today with PDS Tech Commercial and help deliver the next generation of aerospace solutions where precision, performance, and engineering excellence take flight.
