Qualifications You Will Need:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred OR successful completion of an entrance exam.
  • 1-3 years of industrial or manufacturing experience.
  • Must be mechanically inclined. CNC Machine experience is a plus!
  • The ability to work a rotating 12 hr shift, days, nights, and two consecutive weekends a month. (Dupont 4/3 schedule)
  • Basic computer skills.
  • General math, advanced problem solving, ability to multi-task..
  • Ability to use charts, schedules, and touchscreens when applicable.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and use adjustable controls, measuring instruments, and gauges.

Your Purpose:
You will assist with maintaining roll/guides inventory, equipment changes, and building the rolling mill stands for production.
Your Work:
  • Use shop mathematics together with the use of blueprints, specifications, charts, tables, and computer and precision measuring instruments.
  • Assembly of straightener rolls/guides, shear blades, and saw blades and inspect for conformance to specifications.
  • Rebuild old guides and rolls, first removing slag with scrapers, pry bars, cutting torches, or hammers.
  • Disassemble previously installed mill stands and install and align new rolls.
  • Set and adjust bolts to position rolls on mill stands using wrenches and bars.
  • Assemble and grease mill stands using hand and air powered tools and operate the offline setup verification system.
  • Perform equipment changes related to the building of the mill stands, which may include rolls, chocks, lubrication systems, water sprays, and guides.
  • Ensure roll/guides and consumable inventory levels are replenished and validated.
  • Assist with rolling stand changeovers and cobble removal.
  • Perform routine equipment care, record, and inspection on vehicles and mobile equipment.
  • Operate overhead cranes to transfer products or materials.
