Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a dedicated Food Service Operation Worker in Augusta, GA. In this hands-on, team-oriented role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals in large quantities, maintaining high sanitation standards, and supporting an efficient food service operation. In a Food Service Operation Worker job you’ll be responsible for:
  • Preparing, cooking, and serving a variety of foods for both regular and modified diets.
  • Operating electrical and mechanical kitchen equipment, using sharp utensils, and safely lifting up to 40 lbs. (75 lbs. with assistance).
  • Setting up serving lines and portioning meals for trays and cafeteria service.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, utensils, fixtures, floors, and food service areas.
  • Walking/standing for extended periods and wearing slip-resistant shoes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Operating cash registers, food carts, and occasionally assisting with vehicle safety and transport.

What you’ll need:
  • Ability to complete tasks within assigned time frames with accuracy.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, lift, push, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Comfort working in a kitchen environment with hot equipment, repetitive motion, and wet/slippery floors.
  • Willingness to work a rotating weekend schedule (2 weekends on, 1 weekend off).
