Job description

Location: Berean Baptist Church – Burnsville, MN

Schedule: 32 hours per week (three-quarter-time)

Reports to: Adult Ministries Pastor



Job Profile

Women’s Ministry Director at Berean leads, equips and shepherds women across generations to deepen their relationship with Christ, grow in community and step into gospel centered service. Reporting to the Pastor of Adult Ministries and partnering with our ROOTED Small Groups, Men’s, Marriage and Care Ministries, this role shapes discipleship pathways, multiplies leaders, plans retreats and special gatherings and spiritually formative opportunities to provide soul care for women at every life stage. The tone of the ministry is prayerful, teaching focused and outward looking. Regular onsite responsibilities and occasional evenings and weekends for events and retreats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Women’s Ministry leadership with regular, Christ centered teaching in large or small group settings that is doctrinally faithful and practical.
  • Foster a culture of prayer and spiritual health of women of all ages and stages
  • Recruit, train and multiply leaders and small-group hosts; develop leader-equipping resources curricula and coaching opportunities through teaching, bible studies, prayer, and the planning of special gatherings
  • Connect with, challenge, and mentor women toward intentional “what’s next” spiritual growth
  • Represent and cast vision for Women’s Ministry within Berean and the local community; coordinate outreach partnership beyond Bereans walls
  • Plan, promote and engage with Women’s Ministry gatherings and retreats
  • Provide Christ centered shepherding care and referral for women in need; collaborating with Berean Care Ministries on counseling and support
  • Partner with Adult Ministries of Small Groups, Men’s, Marriage and Care Ministries in its mission to connect the church and home in impacting the younger generation.



Required Qualifications

  • Active and evident growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to Berean’s Statement of Faith (Membership at Berean or actively pursuing membership is required; weekly attendance expected.)
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant ministry experience – paid or substantive volunteer leadership in women’s ministry, discipleship, pastoral care or small group leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to teach Scripture clearly and applicably across ages and life stages
  • Humility, a servant leader
  • Proven track record and ability of recruiting, training and multiplying volunteer leaders
  • Values and leads in the rhythm of prayer in ministry
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and make rational decisions; handle sensitive issues while maintaining confidentiality and trust


Preferred Qualifications


  • Prior experience supervising staff or serving on a leadership team
  • Excellent relational and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers
  • Experience planning women’s retreats and discipleship events
  • Skills in budgeting, communications and project management


Education

  • Formal theological training: seminary degree, diploma/certificate in Bible/theology or comparable accredited program
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree


Work Conditions & Schedule


  • Primarily in-person with limited flexibility for remote work. Office hours are weekday-focused; evening and weekend availability required for classes, ministry events and occasional community partnerships
  • Some light lifting (up to 20 pounds), and managing supplies for events. Ability to stand and facilitate for extended periods during gatherings
