Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Fresh 2U Transportation is seeking a Class-A CDL Yard Spotter near Oberlin, OH to become a part of our team. The responsibilities consist of moving trailers between staging areas and multiple greenhouses at Green Circle Growers. This is a full-time position, that is overtime eligible. Candidates must have a reliable mode of transportation for a 3pm start time and be willing to work rotating weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies
  • Daily safety inspection of yard tractor prior to operation
  • Daily trailer inventory and organization of the yard
  • Safety inspection of trailers prior to loading
  • Red Tag trailers and complete DVIR as needed
  • Check and maintain reefer temperatures and refuel units as needed
  • Shuttle trailers between docks and staging areas (average 26-30 trailer moves per shift)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum age 25 or older
  • Minimum 1 year's verifiable experience
  • Willing to work weekend rotation
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and cleanliness standards
  • Proven initiative and responsibility demonstrated through prior work experience
  • Team player with a positive attitude

PHYSICAL Environment & Requirements:

• Plant/Production facility, occasionally outside, or in-store; Possible extreme heat/cold dependent on season

• Continuously requires ability to follow verbal and/or written direction

• Frequently requires walking, lifting (up to 50lbs), carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling (up to 200lbs), bending, and crouching

• Occasionally requires sitting, standing, fine dexterity, climbing and handling

• May require ability to operate machinery, drive vehicles (truck, car, van, tug, forklift) or use equipment such as hand tools, computers, or general business equipment
