Job description

Ultrasound Technologist

Performs diagnostic Ultrasound examinations. Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide Ultrasound services appropriate to the age of the patients. Cognizant of safety issues, both environmental and medical. Must be competent to obtain image and perform Ultrasound studies with adults and geriatric patients as well as children. Responsible for adjusting protocols as necessary and for communicating instructions appropriate to the specific needs of the patient. Must be knowledgeable in recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect in the adult, geriatric, or pediatric patient. The Ultrasonographer also meets hospital's continuing education requirements by enhancing professional growth and development through participation in educational program, current literature, In-service meetings and workshops, as well as association groups.

Graduate of an approved school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. 1 year as Ultrasound Technologist preferred. BLS Certification required upon hire.

CALL REQUIRED PAY / BENEFITS Estimated pay is based on qualifications including but not limited to experience, education, certifications, and licensure where applicable.
