Job description

The School District of Onalaska is seeking substitute teachers. All applicants must obtain a current Wisconsin DPI teaching or substitute teaching license. Pay is $150.00 per full day and $75.00 for a half-day. If you sub 20 consecutive days, each day after is at the base teacher rate (2026-27 rate is $274.31 per day).
No nights or weekends, school day only. You choose the hours/days you are available. This is an on-call position for open teacher positions that occur on an infrequent/daily basis throughout the school year.
Qualifications: A minimum of an associate's degree or bachelors' required and the ability to obtain a Wisconsin DPI teaching or substitute teaching license. For more information on substitute teacher licensing, visit or contact Human Resources for assistance.
