Registered Nurse (RN) - Hospice On Call (Night Shift / Weekend)
Location: Dayton, OH and surrounding areas
Schedule: 3x12-Hour Night Shifts | Friday-Sunday

Position Summary
The Hospice On Call RN (Night Shift) provides after-hours clinical support, managing patient and family needs through telephonic triage, care coordination, and in-person visits when needed. This role ensures that patients receive timely symptom management, compassionate support, and continuity of care outside traditional business hours.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide after-hours support for hospice patients and families
  • Assess patient needs and determine appropriate interventions, including symptom management and care plan updates
  • Coordinate and delegate nursing visits and services to field staff as needed
  • Evaluate physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients
  • Communicate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and external partners to ensure continuity of care
  • Perform clinical pronouncement of death and provide compassionate family support
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation, care plans, and progress notes
  • Ensure compliance with hospice regulations and standards of care
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing (RN) program
  • Current RN license in the state of Ohio
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (hospice, home health, ER, ICU, or med-surg preferred)
  • Strong clinical judgment, triage, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage high-emotion situations with compassion and professionalism
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Current BLS certification
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance
