Job description

Position Overview Advanced level professional under general direction to monitor health of residents, conduct and document health assessments, provide temporary or emergency treatment and serve as consultant to other staff regarding medical problems. Perform material and substantial duties of classification more than 50% of the time. Summary of Job Duties Provide professional nursing care as needed; assist with special treatment needs; assist physician with medical/surgical procedures; act on lab results; evaluate residents overall condition as is appropriate; communicate and coordinate care with physician as needed.

Review and insure correlation of physician order, pharmacy printout and MAR/TAR. Maintain confidentiality of all residents' medical care and treatment records; ensure privacy of protected health information as required by HIPAA. Counsel and mentor LPNs; implement and maintain infection control measures; coordinate resident care between disciplines and shifts; coordinate administration of resident immunizations; monitor clinic appointments, labs, x-rays and tests.

Coordinate staffing requirements to ensure resident care needs; coordinate nurse attendance for resident review, Plans of Care and IHP meetings; oversee and/or determine major unusual incidents; perform complete investigation and communicate findings with all appropriate internal/external parties; serve as facilitator with pharmacy, medical records, lab services and vendors. Maintain confidentiality of personnel files and matters regarding documented employee relations incidents/occurrences/disciplines, etc. (Performs Related Duties As Required) Minimum Qualifications and Requirements Current State of Ohio Registered Nurse license and two (2) years of experience in an RN position.

Experience in an acute care setting is highly preferred or a combination of acute and long-term care experience. Experience with developmental disabilities and/or pediatrics a plus. Supplemental Information Employees who are scheduled to work and work between the hours of 6:00 pm and 6:00 am are entitled to a $2 per hour shift differential.

A weekend shift differential of $3 per hour shall be paid to regular full-time and part-time employees for each hour worked between the hours of 6:00 am Saturday and 5:59 am Monday. Training and Development: Must maintain registered nurse license in Ohio. Must obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR-BLS certification during employment.
