POSITION SUMMARY
Santa Marta is seeking a Full-Time Server to join our vibrant Dining Services team! This role includes working in Della Terra , our cozy breakfast and lunch bistro, as well as assisting with bartending shifts during Happy Hour in La Taverna . If you're passionate about great service, enjoy staying busy, and love connecting with residents, this may be the role for you!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Shared duties between servers include:
  • Greeting and seating residents and guests warmly and professionally
  • Taking meal and beverage orders and serving items according to established policies
  • Baking cookies and muffins daily
  • Preparing silverware roll-ups for breakfast and lunch rushes
  • Stocking and cleaning the Della Terra case
  • Bussing and wiping down tables after residents leave
  • Keeping tables stocked with condiments (syrup, jellies, ketchup, mustard)
  • Maintaining the coffee station throughout the shift
  • Answering incoming calls to the kitchen
  • Expediting and running food to tables promptly
  • Entering all resident orders in the POS system
  • Assisting with drink preparation and bartending duties during Happy Hour in La Taverna
  • Maintaining all side stations and dining areas using the "clean as you go" policy
  • Completing all daily, weekly, and closing cleaning sidework as scheduled
  • Monitoring inventory and restocking supplies as needed
  • Assisting with orientation and training of new food servers
  • Practicing all safety and loss prevention procedures
  • Maintaining or exceeding standards for appearance, cleanliness, personal hygiene, and sanitation
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Attending all required in-services
  • Supporting the Mission and Values of the community and Catholic social teachings
  • Performing all other reasonable tasks as assigned by your supervisor

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements and Experience :
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to read and write
• Follow instructions with a positive attitude
• Experience a plus, but not required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Willingness to work with the elderly in a senior living environment
• Effectively communicate with Residents, guests, employees, and supervisors
• Must be able to work weekends, Holidays and for pre-planned special events
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
