Overview

Bay Harbor Golf Club, the most upscale of the three Boyne Golf properties, is perched high atop a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. Inside the clubhouse you will find the Links Grille and pro-shop that makes for an unforgettable golfing experience.

Server is a full or part-time, seasonal position at Bay Harbor Golf Club. Responsibilities are to ensure that patrons have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality customer service. Servers work in the front of the business taking orders, serving food and drinks, and assisting guests with all other needs. All servers must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

*Please Note: Typical months of operation are early May through late October. If you are seeking year round employment, we have opportunities available during the winter season at either Boyne Mountain Resort or Boyne Highlands Resort. For those hired into full-time year round positions, you are provided with medical, dental and vision options.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them.
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
  • Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
  • Upsell food and beverage items by using suggestive selling techniques.
  • Answer questions regarding regions where food products come from, and how food is prepared.
  • Describe in detail tastes and textures.
  • Answer questions regarding wine list, where wine comes from, the vintage, and the aromas & flavors of the wines.
  • Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar.
  • Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter.
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
  • Maintain clean service areas.
  • Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
  • Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable).
  • Assist fellow servers as situations arise as needed.
  • Assist bus person with clearing and resetting tables as needed.

  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Able to work holidays and weekends.
  • Servers must either possess ServSafe certification or obtain it upon hire.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
