Job description

Summary of Position:

Offer full support to restaurant servers and bartenders in order to maintain the highest possible guest experience. Takes responsibility for the mechanics of food and beverage delivery, table maintenance, and station maintenance so that servers and bartenders may focus on guest service, placing orders, and building guest relationships. Will also clear and reset tables after guests leave and help maintain dining room condition and appearance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift.
  • Bring bread and butter when requested.
  • Deliver food and beverages as directed, so servers and bartenders can remain guest-focused.
  • Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course.
  • Clear tables after guests depart.
  • Take soiled tableware to dish room and unload, sort and stack silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in designated areas in the soiled dish drop off area.
  • Between seatings, promptly clean table tops, chairs, and booths. Check floors and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop.
  • Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guest requests to server as needed.
  • Communicate with server and host to assure efficient seating, table utilization and guest service.
  • Clear tables after guests depart.
  • Thank guests as they are leaving.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
  • Clean tables, doors, floors, floorboards, windows, vents, lights etc. Maintain clean and sanitary environment throughout the entire restaurant.
  • Provide a genuinely hospitable experience.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous restaurant experience helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment, while still delivering on our promises to our guests, ensuring a team-focused environment.
  • Must be able to speak, write and understand English.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
