In this role, you may monitor security cameras, file incident reports, and use existing protocols to determine the best way to handle each situation. Some companies may only want you to contact law enforcement when problems occur while others may expect you to personally intervene to resolve security issues. Weekend security guards may work day or night shifts.

What are some common challenges faced by weekend security guards, and how can they prepare for them?

Weekend security guards often encounter unique challenges such as working independently during off-peak hours, handling unexpected incidents with limited onsite supervision, and adapting to varying activity levels depending on the site. To prepare, it's important to familiarize yourself with the site's protocols, maintain clear communication with supervisors, and stay vigilant during quieter periods. Regularly reviewing emergency procedures and practicing strong situational awareness can help you respond confidently to any situation that may arise.
