Role and Team
  • As a Security Guard, you will be an integral part of the Security Team executing processes at our facility to ensure our associates, customers, and assets are protected. At our gates, you will be the face of ADESA to our customers, vendors and associates. You will play an active role in ensuring our Inventory Control procedures are followed. You will be adept at utilizing ADESA technology. You will support vehicle location research when necessary. This position is hourly and reports to the Operations or designated manager. This position may work various shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Secure all gates and buildings and patrol the premises. Sound alarms and notify authorities in case of emergency.
  • Verify only authorized individuals enter the property. Provide facility directions to customers, vendors and transporters.
  • Check gate passes to ensure vehicles are authorized to exit property.
  • Check departing vehicles to guard against theft of company property.
  • Greet customers at the gate and provide prompt and courteous service. Resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
  • When difficult situations arise, de-escalate situations to ensure we win with partners and collaborate on the forefront.
  • Using a handheld device, input vehicle information including the VIN number, miles, owner identification, vehicle options, repair orders and any other pertinent information.
  • Verify the VIN number being entered matches the VIN number on the shipper's Bill of Lading.
  • Watch and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and doors left unsecured.
  • Account for and identify all keys, codes or other safety and security information
  • Maintain a current list of emergency and management telephone numbers
  • Maintain good operating condition of all equipment and facilities, including handheld devices and printers. Notify management of all breakdowns and maintenance needs.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and orderly work environment
  • Practice and promote teamwork continuously. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance
  • Maintain a good flow of communication with all auction team members and leaders

  • 1 - 2 years of experience within a customer service environment
