Nashville Rescue Mission is actively seeking full-time Guest Security / Support Specialists (Outside Security) to join our Women's Guest Services team. Are you the right person? Position Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 1:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. You're alert and on guard. Are you concerned about the safety and security of those around you? Are you always alert and paying attention to detail? This job requires the ability to stay focused and avoid distractions to ensure the safety of the area you oversee and protect. You're calm and confident. A person who doesn't get riled easy is a good candidate for this job. You must be able to handle disruptions or disputes that might arise keeping your temper in check and maintain control of the situation. The right person for this job can't react angrily or violently to those who cause disruptions. You're a go-getter. The ideal candidate for this position is willing to take the initiative and do whatever needs to be done to complete the task. You don't mind getting your hands dirty and pitching in to help. You're strong in your faith. Sharing the love of Jesus Christ is at the heart of this position. Your job is to communicate the Gospel and model Christian character. Are you prepared to share your testimony? Essential Duties: Maintains order among guests and protects property, visitors, volunteers, and other guests within active zone rotation. Diligently monitors security cameras in the monitor room to observe activity on the close circuit camera system, as well as within the immediate vicinity of the Welcome Center, responding to handheld requests for assistance or other service calls, and telephone reception duties. Demonstrates good judgment, common sense, and follows directions from supervisors. Takes charge and directs others in emergencies or other dangerous situations. Attends staff meetings as assigned by the Director. Abides by all Nashville Rescue Mission policies and procedures, giving priority to safety and security procedures. Exhibits professional appearance at all times by wearing clean jeans or khakis, Mission shirts and security vests. Communicates via two-way radio (walkie-talkie) and/or telephone to a variety of first responders (Police, EMTs, and ambulance) as needed. Assists in compliance with short-term guest parking permits. Walks or drives assigned external zones on predetermined schedules to maintain the security of the parking lot and Mission property/perimeter. Promptly responds to requests to check on observed questionable activity. Keeps exits and entrances clear and maintains lock down areas as specified. Maintains an orderly, clean, and safe work environment within the Guest Services work area. Aligns motives, values, and beliefs with Nashville Rescue Mission's values. Works as a team player and recognizing that his/her actions directly impact the hospitable performance and reputation of Nashville Rescue Mission and NRM Statement of Faith. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position. Other Duties: Performs regular duties associated with guest database. Performs all other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor or management.
