Base Rate- $19.65
Applicant must have passed the District Secretarial Test
Position Title:
School Secretary
Organizational:ย ย 
Reports to:ย  Building Principal or designeeย 
Qualifications:ย ย 













  1. Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  2. Ability to pass the secretary test with a minimum score of 70%.
  3. Such additional qualifications as the Board may deem appropriate and necessary under law.ย  Such additional qualifications shall not be arbitrary or capricious.

Job Goal:
Assist the Principal or designee in the operation of the school building.ย 
Specific Responsibilities:ย ย 



  1. Serve as a welcoming receptionist to the public.
  2. Prepare letters, reports, forms, and written or electronic publications.
  3. Assist in making requisitions and reconciling purchases as needed.
  4. Plan office routine to accomplish assigned tasks prior to deadlines.
  5. Keep school records including but not limited to staff attendance and substitutes, and also maintain student records.
  6. Establish adequate filing procedures for the retrieval of needed information.
  7. Daily processing of incoming and outgoing mail.
  8. Maintain an accounting of such moneys as received or disbursed.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of all information.
  10. Prepare and submit payroll reports.
  11. Collect and process fines and fees.
  12. If trained, responsibly dispenses medicine.
  13. Meets students' needs as they enter the office.
  14. Process student transcripts and work permits. (High school)
  15. Utilize computer software and hardware in office routine.
  16. Perform such other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or designee.
