Job description

Customer Solutions Center | Technical Sales Support | Thermal Management Solutions

About Sheetak

Sheetak is a pioneer in solid-state thermoelectric technology, delivering precision thermal management solutions across industries including medical devices, aerospace, defense, data center cooling, and industrial electronics. Sheetak’s proprietary thermoelectric modules and systems enable highly reliable, compact, and energy‑efficient temperature control where conventional cooling solutions fall short. As we expand our commercial reach, we are growing our Customer Solutions Center with talented Sales Engineers who can engage customers at the engineering level and drive design‑in wins.

Position Summary

The Sales Engineer is an individual contributor role sitting within Sheetak’s Customer Solutions Center and reporting directly to the Customer Solutions Officer. This position is the frontline technical resource for customers and field sales — responsible for understanding customer thermal management challenges, recommending Sheetak solutions, and guiding customers through the design‑in and qualification process.

The ideal candidate brings at least five years of combined technical customer support and sales engineering experience, a solid foundation in thermal or electronic systems engineering, and the ability to credibly engage with customer engineering teams while collaborating closely with Sheetak’s commercial and product organizations. This is a highly collaborative, customer‑facing role that sits at the intersection of engineering and sales.

Key Responsibilities Technical Customer Support & Application Engineering
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned customers, responding to application questions, design inquiries, and product selection requests in a timely and technically credible manner.
  • Analyze customer thermal management requirements and recommend appropriate Sheetak thermoelectric modules, assemblies, or system‑level solutions.
  • Support customers through the design‑in process, providing guidance on thermal modeling, component integration, mounting configurations, and system‑level performance expectations.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, application notes, and product demonstrations tailored to customer engineering teams.
  • Coordinate with Sheetak’s internal engineering team to address complex application questions, obtain custom specifications, or elevate technical issues requiring deeper support.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of application guides, FAQs, and technical reference materials for common customer use cases.
Sales Support & Opportunity Development
  • Partner with Sheetak’s regional sales team and the Customer Solutions Officer to advance opportunities through the technical qualification and design‑in phases of the sales cycle.
  • Participate in customer discovery calls, site visits, and technical reviews to identify application fit, scope requirements, and uncover expansion opportunities within accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical proposals, RFQ responses, and bill‑of‑materials recommendations aligned to customer specifications.
  • Track and document technical engagement activity, design‑in progress, and customer feedback in CRM tools; provide regular updates to the Customer Solutions Officer.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Sheetak’s presence within existing accounts by surfacing additional application needs or adjacent programs.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Relay customer application insights, competitive intelligence, and field feedback to Sheetak’s product and engineering teams to inform roadmap decisions and product improvements.
  • Collaborate with marketing to contribute application‑specific content, customer success stories, and technical collateral that supports the sales and demand‑generation effort.
  • Work within the Customer Solutions Center team to share best practices, support knowledge transfer, and contribute to a consistent, high‑quality customer experience.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a sales engineering, applications engineering, or technical customer support role, with direct engagement with engineering‑level customers.
  • Working knowledge of thermal management principles, including heat transfer fundamentals, thermal budgeting, and cooling system design.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer requirements into product recommendations and communicate technical solutions clearly to both engineering and non‑engineering audiences.
  • Experience supporting B2B sales cycles in a technical capacity — including participation in customer meetings, proposal preparation, and design review support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to small groups of customer engineers and program managers.
  • Proficiency with standard technical tools such as Microsoft Office / Google Workspace; familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
Preferred
  • Hands‑on experience with thermoelectric modules (TEMs), Peltier cooling devices, or solid‑state thermal management components.
  • Familiarity with thermal simulation or analysis tools such as ANSYS, COMSOL, Flotherm, or equivalent.
  • Exposure to one or more of Sheetak’s key target verticals: photonics, medical devices, aerospace & defense, data center / HPC, semiconductor test, or industrial electronics.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, high‑growth technology company or startup environment.
  • Existing relationships with engineering or procurement contacts at OEMs or system integrators in relevant industries.
Core Competencies
  • Technical Aptitude: Quickly understands customer applications and applies sound engineering reasoning to recommend and defend Sheetak solutions.
  • Customer Focus: Builds trust with customer engineering teams through responsiveness, accuracy, and a genuine interest in solving their problems.
  • Commercial Awareness: Understands how technical engagement drives sales outcomes; works with a sense of urgency around design‑in milestones and opportunity advancement.
  • Collaboration: Works effectively across internal teams — sales, product, and engineering — to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Communication: Explains technical concepts clearly and adapts messaging for different audiences, from bench engineers to program managers.
  • Organization: Manages multiple customer engagements simultaneously with attention to detail and consistent follow‑through
What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus performance‑based incentive compensation tied to design‑in and revenue milestones.
  • Equity participation in a high‑growth, venture‑backed deep‑tech company.
  • A collaborative, technically stimulating environment where your work directly influences customer success and company growth.
  • Mentorship and development support from experienced technical sales leadership within the Customer Solutions Center.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
