Requirements
- 2+ years of experience.
- Active Ohio or Compact RN License.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Current American Heart Association ACLS certification.
- Competency with cardiac medications (including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardine, Dobutamine, Lasix, Bumex).
- Competency in telemetry and knowledge of heart rhythms.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to recognize changes in patient status, including signs/symptoms of stroke.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria.
- Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff, including LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries.
- Monitor and manage patient vitals and cardiac conditions in a telemetry setting.
- Administer medications as per protocol and monitor for effectiveness and adverse effects.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding health management and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
