Job Description

Organizes and facilitates the patient throughput in the OR. Coordinates the overall care of patient between surgeon, anesthesiologist and room staff. Responsible for an assigned operating room, facilitating an efficient workflow of schedule by communicating changes and pertinent information as appropriate to all necessary healthcare team members. Makes initial and ongoing assessment of the patient's needs, identifying changes and trends in various physical, emotional, and age related parameters. Evaluates the patient response to nursing interventions related to the established goals and overall effectiveness of the care provided and makes adjustments as necessary. Documents relevant data, including but not limited to nursing diagnoses, patient's plan of care, intervention and response, and discharge plan. Mentors new staff and contributes to the professional development of nursing colleagues.

Qualifications

RN. Current license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in the State of California. AHA Healthcare Provider or Red Cross Professional CPR Certification required. ACLS certification preferred. Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred. Minimum one (1) year of Operating Room experience preferred.
