OR First Assist RN - CVOR

Schedule: Day Shift: Monday - Friday, 0630 - 1500 with after hours call on nights, weekends, and holidays

Assignment Details:

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
  • 1-2 years of experience as an RN First Assistant: Required
  • Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) certification in the state of practice: Preferred
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per policy: Required
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification: Required
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Status (PEARS)/Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor per policy: Preferred
  • Association of perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) membership: Preferred

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in surgical procedures by providing direct patient care and support to the surgical team.
  • Ensure patient safety and maintain a sterile environment throughout the procedure.
  • Collaborate effectively with the surgical team and communicate effectively with patients and families.
  • Monitor patient status during and after surgery and respond to any changes in condition.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families regarding surgical procedures and postoperative care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation throughout the surgical process.
