Description
The Commercial Real Estate/Title Paralegal is responsible for performing substantive legal work supporting the Real Estate and Development Practice Group in addition to other firm practice groups' real estate needs. This includes all title related work including performing full title searches and title updates, issuing reports, title commitments, proforma policies and preparing preliminary drafts of conveyancing documents and closing documents, including settlement statements and real estate transfer tax forms, for review by an attorney along with other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Familiarity with NH Title Examination Standards (and MA REBA / Real Estate Bar Association for MA Standards, a plus)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Presents professionally, displays a positive attitude with high ethical standards
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and work efficiently while using good judgment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to take initiative
  • Sense of urgency
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting and interact directly with clients

Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years of experience working as a Commercial Real Estate/Title Paralegal, strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of legal terminology and excellent computer skills including proficiency with MS Office Suite and related legal programs is required. 5+ years of title experience, paralegal certification, and producer title license, strongly preferred. Continuing legal education is expected. EEO
Schedule
Full-time Monday through Friday with flexibility to occasionally come in early or stay late.
