We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing outpatient orthopedic team. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced physical therapists in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment dedicated to exceptional orthopedic care.

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in an outpatient orthopedic setting. The PTA assists with implementing treatment plans, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, applying modalities, and supporting patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Monday–Friday

Responsibilities

  • Carry out treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities
  • Apply therapeutic modalities and manual techniques as directed
  • Monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the Physical Therapist
  • Supervise assigned Therapy Technician
  • Educate patients on home exercise programs and proper exercise techniques
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe clinic environment
  • Ensure compliance with clinic policies, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS 

  • Physical Therapist Assistant Associate’s degree from an accredited institution required
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a physician office or orthopedic setting (new graduates must demonstrate superior ability to perform through a clinical affiliation or by other comparable means)
  • Current Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state of Tennessee
  • Training and experience in orthopedic care and manual therapy preferred
  • Firm command of therapy payer-specific billing issues and documentation standards
  • Firm command of MS Office Suite, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Practice Management (PM) and other key applications
  • Able to maintain company legal and professional confidentiality requirements across employees, patients and clients
  • Neat, professional appearance
