Advertising/Posting Title Clinical Simulation Lab Equipment Technician Posting Summary
Support and maintain the daily operations of our healthcare simulation center. Play a critical part in preparing and operating simulation environments used in clinical education for healthcare professionals. Assemble and disassemble simulation rooms, including setting up and breaking down medical task trainers, high-fidelity manikins, and medical equipment (e.g., Stryker Chairs, adjustable-height medical beds, AEDs, code carts, Alaris IV pumps, and other specialized equipment). Operate simulation technology and audiovisual systems, including laptops and PCs, to run scenarios and manage real-time resources in a fast-paced, dynamic learning environment.
Provide technical and equipment support to faculty and learners during simulation events.
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of simulators and support systems (software, hardware, and network connectivity). Maintain accurate inventory and stock of medical and disposable supplies (e.g., gauze, sterile gloves, tools). Assist with moulage, role-playing, and props placement to enhance realism in simulation scenarios. Assist in the development of simulated patient data and program simulator responses per instructional requirements. Develop or assist with preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment readiness.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Associate's degree in technical, computer, or healthcare-related areas.
One to three year's work experience that demonstrates strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to independently move equipment (less than 25 lbs) and move manikins (more than 25 lbs) with the assistance of others.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills required; capable of taking direction from superiors, and working with students, faculty, staff and other customers
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Ability to adapt to changes in role and schedule in order to best meet the needs of students, faculty, organization and community
Technical aptitude with ability to learn simulation programs.
Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings required
Desirable Qualifications
This role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and learners. Prior experience in healthcare simulation, clinical environments, or technical support is a plus. Certified EMT preferred.
Anticipated Pay Range $27.00-$32.00 Other Information
Scheduling flexibility needed between 6:00 am - 9:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
A 120-day probationary period is required.
