Essential Functions

  • Manage ongoing operation of all sheet-fed, off-set printing activities to produce final graphics on packaging for various food packaging products.

  • Lead Bobst Die Cut department personnel in their job assignments as well as support other areas of the operation related to printing and die cutting.

  • Manage approximately 45 direct reports working across 8-hour and 12-hour shifts.

  • Provide effective training and development of employees by providing clear objectives, tools and resources needed to succeed and continual review for feedback.

  • Achieve OE budget by managing the effective utilization of equipment and personnel, department budget through daily review of production numbers, weekly and monthly department reviews, and daily cost control measures

  • Achieve waste reduction by focusing on preventative training, equipment and personnel reviews, and corrective action.

  • Maintain inventory integrity or raw materials within the department by daily audits of production reporting, physical counts, and inputting of corrective data.

  • Implement CI culture through relentless focus on process improvement using six sigma, kaizen & TPM methodologies supporting Autonomous Management teams and Process Control meetings to improve safety, quality and productivity and building this philosophy throughout the organization.

  • Champion and participate in all company Safety and Continuous Improvement programs. Improve safety recordable rate through heightened awareness, safety audits and improvements in housekeeping

  • Improve end product quality both on a cost basis and by meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

Experience or Education

Bachelor's degree in printing management or related field preferred.

10+ years' experience in the printing and/or die cutting industry

5+ years supervisory experience required

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail applications

Physical Requirements

Incumbent works in an office/manufacturing environment. Individual will work on average 45 hrs. /week with occasional weekend work. Individual will use the following equipment: computer, calculator, telephone, fax machine, and copier. Requires prolonged sitting (25%) and walking/standing (75%). Requires full range of body motion such as twisting, bending, climbing, reaching at/above/below/shoulders, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Visual requirements include near/far acuity. Required safety equipment: hair/beard net, safety glasses, safety-toed shoes, and earplugs. Occasional travel required.
