Job Title
Predictive Reliability Tech
Position Overview
Shaw Industries is hiring a Predictive Maintenance Technician to perform predictive maintenance tasks to monitor and assess the condition of
production and infrastructure equipment, contributing to improved reliability and minimized downtime onsite at our manufacturing site in Columbia, SC.
Responsibilities:
  • Utilize various PdM test instruments including Infrared Imagers, Ultrasound collectors, and vibration analyzers.
  • Effectively perform analysis of ultrasound, and infrared data to determine necessary actions
  • Attend and implement offsite certification and training courses on theory and application of PdM technology and how to analyze the data.
  • Document findings, build and maintain routes, develop baselines, trend data, interpret results, create and generate corrective work orders
  • Follow up after corrective work orders are completed to ensure the work resolved the finding and to collect new baseline data.
  • Must gain proficiency in a variety of software packages for collection and analysis of Ultrasound, Infrared, vibration, and Oil Analysis data.
  • Must gain proficiency in collection, importing and exporting of routes, and reporting in Vibration software
  • Demonstrate precision lubrication techniques by leveraging ultrasound.
  • Demonstrate ability to visually identify electrical components as they relate to Infrared scan reporting and corrective work documentation.
  • Perform precision alignment on belts and shafts utilizing precision alignment tools, while educating and training maintenance teammates on alignment techniques
  • Train maintenance teammates on alignment techniques
  • Maintain the integrity and security of sensitive and technical tools.
  • Perform job duties in a safe manner
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as necessary to keep program on schedule
  • Communicate effectively with management to adequately address findings in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Actively participate in various committees.

Requirements
  • Able to bend, stoop, squat, lift, climb ladders and reach occasionally
  • Able to lift/carry packages weighing up to Fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
  • Able to wear OSHA and NFPA required PPE, including an 8-cal arc-flash protective suit for extended periods.
  • Able to operate highly technical equipment and analyze results which include: the accurate reading of multi-color graphs and screens, discernment of colors
  • Able to listen for and interpret noise anomalies of varying pitch or magnitude
  • Able to make visual judgments of both a quantitative and qualitative nature at distances from six inches to twenty-five feet in varying environmental conditions.
  • Must have good interpersonal, communication, leadership and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work with close supervision
  • Meet Shaw Technical Academy requirements for the Technician-Electrician II, or Technician Mechanic Level B
  • Computer skills with programs and software related to predictive maintenance programs and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attend and implement Level I Ultrasound, Infrared, and Level 2 Vibration certification courses or receive internal training by a qualified facilitator. This includes any PdM Tech II or member of corporate reliability.
  • Preferred experience as a predictive maintenance technician or equivalent work.
