WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to oversee the safe and efficient operations of our Metal Tech facility. This leadership role is accountable for production planning, operational efficiency, employee supervision, and continuous improvement efforts. You’ll plan, organize, and oversee plant operations to ensure optimal throughput and productivity.

Reporting to our General Manager, you will closely collaborate with our other managers and departments to support Metal Tech objectives and in fostering a positive, productive working environment.

A highlight of your day-to-day will include:

  • Maintaining a safe, clean and well-organized working environment for all employees with the ultimate responsibility of ensuring the safety of all employees; Identifying unsafe acts taken by employees, unsafe working conditions or equipment and working to eliminate the hazard or correct the behavior; Working with the Corporate Vice President of Environment, Health and Safety to implement corporate safety initiatives. Ensuring all employees are performing job duties in a safe manner and ensuring work environment is organized and free of hazards. Conducting safety meetings with employees to educate on a variety of topics to encourage safe practices and to make employees aware of the importance of safety.
  • Preparing, implementing, evaluating, and executing daily expectations of work orders by providing quality product from correct dimensions, quality concrete pours, strength of product, etc. in a timely manner without continuous overtime.
  • Organizing daily and weekly work flow based on production schedules and customer demands. Ensuring all teams in production are well informed of the daily tasks and deadlines set forth.
  • Maximizing resources to exceed efficiency. Identifying areas of cost savings, efficiencies, and quality of product manufacturing based on observations and evaluations of products lines. Offering suggestions for improvement of production functions and implementing processes that ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensuring quality of all products is constantly monitored.
  • Coordinating work schedules to meet the customer demands for production schedule and ensuring proper labor count to support demands. Monitoring overtime hours and labor costs daily, weekly, etc. to manage labor costs.
  • Ensuring all employees in the plant have been properly trained on manufacturing process, utilization of tools, safety, production demands, quality expectations, dependability expectations, and efficiency goals. Ensuring that all employees operating machinery are certified and properly trained prior to utilizing any machinery (i.e. cranes, forklifts, rebar bender, cutters, etc.) Motivating employees in work area to achieve production goals and quality standards.
  • Leading by example on properly conducting themselves in a positive manner with communication and direction. Delegating expectations to other managers and supervisors to communicate to their departments.
  • Overseeing the plant. Managing employees including but not limited to: interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; motivating, evaluating, rewarding and disciplining employees.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an experienced Plant Manager who possesses the following skills, education, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, engineering, or a related discipline and a minimum of 10 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment with progressively more responsible supervisory and management experience.
  • Previous experience with Lean manufacturing and/or six sigma.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with peers and direct highly functioning teams.
  • Previous ERP experience helpful.
  • Strong background in plant safety with the ability to identify, diagnose and remedy plant operating and people safety issues.
