Job description

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, detail-driven, and proactive Medical Biller / Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our team at our central facility in Panama City. You will be responsible for managing full-cycle outpatient physical therapy billing, payment posting, claims follow-up, and account resolution. If you take pride in clean claims, low A/R days, and zero-drama execution, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full-Cycle Billing: Prepare, review, and submit clean electronic and paper claims for outpatient physical therapy services (CPT codes, modifiers, ICD-10).
  • Payment Posting & Reconciliation: Accurately post insurance payments, ERA/EFT transactions, patient co-pays, and deductibles into our EMR/billing software.
  • Denials & Claims Management: Proactively investigate, correct, and re-submit claim denials, rejections, and appeals in a timely manner.
  • A/R Management: Work aging accounts receivable reports (30/60/90+ days) to ensure maximum cash flow and minimal contractual write-offs.
  • Payor Compliance: Maintain current working knowledge of Medicare guidelines, Commercial payors, Auto/Personal Injury, and Workers' Compensation requirements.
  • Patient Accounts: Answer patient inquiries regarding statements, payment plans, and insurance benefits with professionalism and clarity.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of medical billing experience (Outpatient Physical Therapy or Rehab billing experience strongly preferred).
  • Billing Expertise: Thorough understanding of medical terminology, PT CPT coding, Medicare billing regulations, and secondary claims.
  • Software Competency: High proficiency in electronic health records (EMR) and revenue cycle management (RCM) platforms.
  • Attributes: Exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, strong analytical capability, and a self-motivated, proactive mindset
