The Disability Resource Center (DRC) is an organization that works to promote Independent Living for and by individuals with disabilities; to enable them to take control of their lives; to make decisions about themselves and their future; to ensure the necessary support services are available to enable them to be active participants in their communities; and to prevent unnecessary institutionalization.

Job Description

The President and Managing Member of The Disability Resource Center (DRC) is seeking a personal driver to facilitate transportation, complete personal tasks and support him in various assignments. The ideal candidate for this role is self-motivated, highly responsible and flexible. Working in this capacity offers the candidate the opportunity to gain valuable insight into successful operation of a business, networking and life skills in general. 

JOB SUMMARY: 

The primary focus of this role is operating and overseeing maintenance of the President's vehicles and ensuring that he is driven to and picked up from appointments throughout the day. When not engaged in transportation, the Driver will complete projects as assigned, run personal errands and act as a part of the President's support team. The ideal candidate will aspire to entrepreneurship. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

Arriving on time for all appointments without prompting or reminder 

Driving safely and efficiently at all times 

Proactively managing maintenance of the vehicles to ensure reliability 

Serving as a resource to ensure no appointments are missed 

Ensuring on-time arrival of the President to all events 

Recording and tracking all assigned projects and tasks 

Regularly reporting on the status of outstanding projects and tasks 

Ensuring the President has the materials and supplies needed to perform his work or attend meetings 

Maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion regarding the President's personal affairs 

Work hours vary widely; day, weekend and evening availability is required 

Collaborating with other members of the President's support team to ensure his success 

Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS: 

Safe driving history 

Ability to pass criminal background check 

Excellent work ethic 

Great attention to detail with ability to track progress and follow up on tasks 

Ambition and self-motivation 

Computer aptitude and technological savvy 

Good communication skills 

Commitment to personal growth and success 

High level of integrity 

TIME COMMITMENT: 

Hours vary per week based on the President's schedule and work load, but availability between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays with occasional weekend commitments is requested. 

Additional Information

COMPENSATION: 

The Driver is an independent contractor who receives a 1099 statement. The Driver will compile and submit invoices to the President for payment at a rate of $15.00 per hour worked. 

Acceptance of this position requires entering into a non-disclosure agreement. Additional perks include occasional meals, mentoring and coaching for personal and professional success. The President will offer one-to-one mentoring sessions on a weekly basis.
