POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Maintains and operates commercial swimming pool and perform related work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Properly operates, repairs, maintains and cleans mechanical equipment for pool operation.

2. Maintains records as required.

3. Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.

4. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.

5. Organizes and puts away equipment. Reports damaged equipment.

6. Supports YMCA healthy eating and physical activities standards through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality

7. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

8. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1 year or more of related experience preferred.

Certifications required within 30 days of hire: Pool Operator, CPR/AED, and First Aid.

Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.

Ability to report and record maintenance requests.

Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.

Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.

Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Must be at least 21 years old.

Completes Praesidium within 7 days of hire date.

Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.

Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
