Position Overview

As a Critical Care Step Down RN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals recovering from critical illnesses or transitioning from intensive care. Youll utilize advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and teamwork to deliver exceptional outcomes and compassionate service to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct age-specific patient assessments upon admission and throughout care, ensuring accurate documentation and communication.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and document all interventions using EPIC, the electronic medical record system.
  • Revise care plans based on changes in patient condition, ensuring ongoing quality and safety.
  • Deliver care that promotes respect, dignity, and empathy in every patient interaction.
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork within the unit to maintain the highest standards of clinical care.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing (eligible to sit for the VA RN licensure exam).
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in Virginia or eligibility to obtain.
  • CPR certification required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP as needed.
  • Computer proficiency required for EPIC or similar EMR systems.
  • Must successfully complete all orientation and competency requirements.
  • No prior experience required new graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply!
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $30.47 $45.71/hour (based on years of experience)
  • Shift Options: Weekends Only (Days or Nights)
  • Sign-On Bonus:
    • Up to $30,000 for Experienced RNs
    • Up to $20,000 for New Graduate RNs (must meet bonus criteria)
