Job description

ICU RN Position

Patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) have acute care needs, which require continuous monitoring that cannot be provided on the general floors or PCU. The ICU RN is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. The ICU RN acts as a patient advocate. The ICU RN provides support, information and direct care and utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. The Registered Nurse educates patients and families on significant self-care issues. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required.

ICU RN Position Requirements

  • Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 12 months of employment
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification will be obtained during orientation

ICU RN Work Schedule

  • May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy.
  • Scheduled off at least three holidays per year.
  • Required to work weekends per unit need.
  • Expected to work overtime on occasion.

ICU RN Benefits

  • At TidalHealth, full-time employees working at least 72 hours per pay period, part-time employees working at least 36 hours per pay period and part-time employees working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
