ER RN Position Summary

The ED RN provides nursing care for emergency and trauma patients. The ED plays a significant role in the hospital’s Stroke, AMI and trauma programs. There is also a specialized area for adult and pediatric mental health evaluations. The ED RN is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the nursing process. The ED RN acts as a patient advocate. The ED RN provides support, information and direct care and utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. The Registered Nurse educates patients and families on significant self-care issues. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required.

ER RN Position Requirements

  • Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency. 
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • PALS and ACLS required within 6 months of hire

ER RN Work Schedule

  • May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy.
  • Scheduled off at least three holidays per year.
  • Required to work weekends per unit need.
  • Expected to work overtime on occasion.

ER RN Benefits

  • At TidalHealth, full-time employees working at least 72 hours per pay period, part-time employees working at least 36 hours per pay period and part-time employees working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
