As a Network Engineer supporting RTL Networks' Combined Orbital Operations Logistics and Resiliency program, you'll own the setup, upgrade, and maintenance of protected communication networks across two distinct programs. With hands-on expertise across Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and TACLANE encryption devices, you bring the technical precision and active DoD clearance needed to keep mission-critical systems connected and secure. You have demonstrated experience in classified network environments, a solid command of core network protocols, and the accountability required to work within a Top Secret security framework. Essential responsibilities of the Network Engineer include, but are not limited to:
  • The Network Engineer will be responsible for setting up and maintaining protected communication networks for two different programs, requiring active DoD clearance of Secret or higher.
  • Support all efforts needed to maintain program requirements. They will support other systems engineers by ensuring network continuity across all necessary systems.
  • Responsible for upgrading new hardware, including: TACLANES, routers, switches, firewalls, and other network hardware, as well as maintaining and troubleshooting that hardware.
  • The Network Engineer will track and document all efforts through Jira (or similar) and will be responsible for maintaining accurate records.
  • They will need a high level of accountability, responsibility, and attention to detail.
  • They will be expected to work onsite 40 hours per week and occasionally support night or weekend efforts based on the needs of the program. There will be some travel involved in setting up new networks and/or replacing existing hardware at remote sites.

Qualifications
Show us your:
  • Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of experience, an advanced degree with no experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must meet DoD 8570 Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) criteria or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification at time of hire (i.e., Security+).
  • Knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience upgrading, maintaining, troubleshooting cisco network devices (routers, switches, and firewalls).
  • Familiarity with Crypto including configuring and keying TACLANEs.
  • Experience with CISCO Nexus Devices.
  • Experience with routing static/protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP).
  • Experience with cisco FMC (firewall management center) and Cisco Firepower & ASA devices.
  • GEM One experience (TACLANE management software).
  • Experience in classified network environments.
  • Ability to read and understand network diagrams and documentation.

Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret level. U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for clearance at this location.
