Job Description

Seeking an experienced software Project Management Specialist to provide overall project administration in the evolution of a enterprise software application suite. This position will provide broad cross-domain and cross-disciplinary expertise in establishing the schedule and measurements that will be used to design and develop the department's software solution. As a member of the project team, the Project Management Specialist will work in an interactive environment with business and technical staff to ensure a high degree of collaboration in support of a successful overall solution. Responsibilities for this role will include maintaining a forward looking project plan, measuring compliance against milestones, and managing resource allocations. This position will be best served by a candidate who is detailed, analytic and task-oriented. Candidates with a strong desire for strategic, project leadership responsibilities will not be a good fit.

Qualifications

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.

Minimum 5 years of experience in managing project plans for the successful implementation of an enterprise business application.

Experience in developing and executing a production level master project plan with a minimum of 10,000 elements inclusive of resource allocation and leveling.

Proven expertise in the use of Microsoft Project advanced features and functionality as applied to a multi-million dollar and multi-year software project.

Proven experience in the use of Microsoft Team Foundation Server including the creation, tracking and reporting of micro-level tasks.

Experience with the integration of Microsoft Project to other Microsoft adjacent products (i.e. SharePoint, Team Foundation Server, etc.)

Experience in establishing project management baseline in order to effectively benchmark a multi-year software development project.

Ability to develop and manage software measures and metrics to support a master project plan's milestones, timeline and effort projections.

Ability to analyze project plan information in order to derive any potential resource overage, underage, or constraint.

Ability to author project status reporting for senior business and technical management and to effectively provide related presentations to the senior team.

Ability to prepare and present current-state and future-state analysis (written and verbal) to the software development team, senior management, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Experience in working directly with project leads/teams to resolve project constraint issues as well as articulating the benefits of project management in general.

Ability to facilitate team meetings and capture feedback from discussions to assist in project improvements.

Strong skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.

Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Project Management theory, concepts and principles (e.g. theory of constraints, critical path methodology, project risk management, triple constraints, project scope management, project management lifecycle etc.).

Extensive experience in SDLC methodologies (Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall) and phases including Design, Analysis Development, Implementation, Build, Deployment, Testing, Post Implementation and UAT support

Candidate must be an excellent communicator.
