Job description

Job Title: Project Schedule Manager (PMO)
Overview / Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Schedule Manager to support the Project Management Office (PMO) in managing project schedules, reporting, governance activities, and project oversight. This role requires experience with project scheduling, project management methodologies, software development methodologies, and PMO processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, team leads, vendors, project managers, and technical staff while overseeing schedule-related activities for a vendor developing and implementing a system.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the PMO in managing all aspects of the project, with a focus on creating and maintaining the project schedule and client tasks.
  • Collect project schedule updates and apply updates to the project schedule.
  • Create and maintain the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and its linkage to the project schedule.
  • Manage all aspects of schedule development and maintenance for internal projects.
  • Ensure the vendor has documented best practices for schedule management.
  • Oversee vendor project schedule activities and ensure approved processes are followed.
  • Produce weekly schedule metrics, including schedule variance and earned value.
  • Assist the PMO with day-to-day analysis and management of the project critical path and defined tasks to watch.
  • Support the creation, maintenance, and analysis of project metrics and reports.
  • Prepare, organize, facilitate, and document project schedule meetings.
  • Provide clear and accurate weekly and monthly project reporting and resource forecasting.
  • Assist project team leads with schedule decomposition, estimating, and resourcing.
  • Review project schedules and assist team members in understanding their activities.
  • Manage the creation, maintenance, and analysis of project risks, issues, and action items.
  • Manage the creation, maintenance, and analysis of project metrics and reports.
  • Collaborate and coordinate activities with stakeholders, team leads, vendors, project managers, and technical staff.

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience with PMO responsibilities, including:
    • Creating project governance plans and processes.
    • Managing all aspects of project execution.
    • Creating and tracking schedule and scope baselines.
    • Managing project change and configuration.
    • Managing issues and risks.
  • 2-3 years of planning, scheduling, reporting, project metrics, and resource management experience.
  • 2-3 years of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) planning experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience with Microsoft Office tools, including:
    • SharePoint
    • Excel
    • Word
    • Visio
    • PowerPoint
  • Experience with Microsoft Project Professional, Project Server, and Project Web App (PWA).
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field; or Associate's degree with 10+ years of project management experience.
  • Leadership and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience with Microsoft Project Server / Project Web App (PWA).
  • 3-5 years of experience with Agile Software Development Methodology.
  • Professional Project Management Certification.
  • Very good written and verbal English communication skills.
