Job description

Belvac’s proven technology is utilized worldwide in the 2 piece aluminum beverage can industry. Supplying can makers with Cupping, Body making, Trimming, Decorating, Bottom Rim Coating, Necking, Shaping and inspection technology. Our machinery is utilized in the beverage, food, beauty, and aerosol industry worldwide. Belvac is dedicated to providing customers with the highest performing machinery for the lowest cost of operation. With over 300 employees across seven locations worldwide, Belvac is able to support customers in real time in over 150+ countries.

General Function:     Operate CNC laser cutting machine, press brake, welding machines, and other fabrication equipment to perform a series of fabrication operations while following work instructions and procedures to construct fabricated product to Belvac quality standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires long periods of standing (up to 10 hours/day).
  • Must be able to operate overhead cranes.
  • Although production areas have overhead cranes, on occasion Manufacturing, Stockroom and Assembly employees may choose to lift items by hand for convenience.  It is the responsibility of all employees to follow correct lifting techniques and seek help or utilize mechanical lifting aids as appropriate to avoid potential injury.
  • Requires good eye, hand coordination.
  • Requires use of hand tools, files, sanders and grinders.

 

Fabrication Primary Responsibilities:

  • Safety is our first priority. Employees must be able to operate machinery safely and follow all established Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Experience in operation CNC laser cutting machine, press brake, MIG and TIG welders, roller, drill press, shear, band saw, hand-held power tools, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Read prints, shop orders, tooling instructions and layout sheets to determine product specifications, apply the most appropriate process, and construct product to Belvac quality standards.
  • Ability to read laser g-code program and compare with part drawing to prevent errors.
  • Observe machine control panel and compare with data on job documentation to verify proper process.
  • Provide information and communicate with Manufacturing Engineering department to make corrections to existing set-up sheets, programs, or processes as needed.
  • Exhibit good troubleshooting capabilities to be able to correct fabrication problems.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Perform hand layout of sheet metal parts for cutting, bending and drilling when needed.
  • Perform repair of sheet metal components to meet Belvac’s aesthetic quality requirements.
  • Proper use of precision measuring and layout instruments such as a scale, square, caliper, and micrometer.
  • Deburr and part mark as needed.
  • Assist in sanding, grinding, polishing, and sand blasting when needed.
  • Must keep assigned machine(s) and work area cleaned and neat.
  • Perform preventative machine maintenance.
  • It is every BPM, Inc. Employee’s responsibility to be aware of and work with Belvac's current documented Quality Management System as it pertains to their job requirements.
  • It is every employee’s responsibility to improve processes to reduce set-up and run-time standards when possible.

Work Arrangement : Onsite

Wage Range: $22.50-$28.00 hourly
