Job description

Description:

FUSE METAL, a divison of King Retail Solutions, is a custom metal fabrication job shop specializing in sheet metal fabrication and finishing. We are looking for a Metal Fabrication Assistant that will work closely with the Welder Fabricator to complete tasks in the metal fab shop. They will assist in welding operations as well as operate a variety of hand tools and saws. Learn basic operations and operate metal forming, bending and cutting equipment. The typical production schedule of a Metal Fabrication Assistant is Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm. Extended hours and Saturdays may be required during our busiest times.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate various power hand tools.
  • Use machinery to bend, form, and cut metal parts.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings (details) and be proficient at understanding key dimensions, angles, tolerances, and finish requirements.
  • Work closely with the Welder Fabricator to achieve production goals.
  • Perform work safely without accident or injury while maintaining a safe work area clear of hazards.
  • Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned.
  • Potential Mig Welding

Knowledge Skills and other Abilities:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, and follow directions, understand and interpret drawings, details, and written instructions.
  • Ability to safely operate metal cutting equipment (iron worker, saws, grinder, sander, oxy-fuel torch, etc.)
  • Ability to learn how to safely create weldments that are structurally and ascetically sound.
  • Proficient at using measurement tools (tape measure, caliper, square, etc.)
  • Detail oriented
