Job description

TITLE: Extrusion Technician C

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Extrusion Technician role is to manufacture extruded products and must ensure that production standards relating to safety, quality, outputs, and cost are met.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Legal eligibility to work in the US
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of personnel
  • Basic math skills and some mechanical abilities
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary such as overtime, weekend.
  • Capable of lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 40 pounds of various sizes and shapes.
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time and climbing ladders or other equipment for cleaning.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure safety, quality, and production standards on assigned lines.
  • Monitor all extrusion functions, maintain communication with rear line operations, and maximize throughput all while complying with operating procedures and Standard Occupational Classification (SOC’s).
  • Properly maintain and care for equipment, initiating maintenance work orders for future outages as needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of lines, adhering to daily housekeeping requirements and checklists.
  • Comply with plant safety regulations and good manufacturing practices

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and change positions frequently over an eight-hour period. The position requires walking up to 8 hours per work shift.
  • Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. Lifting requirements up to and including 30 lbs. frequently.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
  •  Must be able to reach and lift above shoulders (frequently)
