Summary

The Manager, Manufacturing Engineering will work closely with Production, Safety, Quality, Design Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure products are efficiently manufactured, production processes are optimized, manufacturing systems remain reliable, and production teams are equipped to meet business objectives. This position is responsible for developing the team's technical capabilities while leading strategic initiatives focused on things like safety, productivity, quality, cost reduction, and scalability.


Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, develop, and manage the Manufacturing Engineering team, including Manufacturing Engineers, Production Development Engineers, Manufacturing Software Engineers, and Production Support Technicians.
  • Establish departmental goals, priorities, project plans, resource allocation, and performance metrics aligned with company objectives.
  • Ensure effective day-to-day engineering support for manufacturing operations by removing production constraints, minimizing downtime, and resolving technical issues.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of manufacturing processes, work instructions, test procedures, tooling, fixtures, automation systems, and production software solutions.
  • Collaborate with teams on manufacturing capacity planning, line balancing, workflow optimization, and production scalability initiatives to support business growth.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes, test methods, and production controls consistently meet quality, safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) efforts related to manufacturing defects and production downtime
  • Manage manufacturing engineering projects, engineering changes, capital equipment investments, and departmental budgets while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Responsible for key KPI’s including production line uptime, productivity project execution, meeting production labor efficiency targets, preventative/predictive maintenance plan attainment, 5S scorecards, hazard closure rate, production cycle time versus takt time, and FPY, among others.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of manufacturing engineering, production engineering, industrialization, or manufacturing support experience in a technical manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership, supervisory, or project leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading manufacturing process improvements, production support, and industrialization efforts.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects involving safety, engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain organizations.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process validation, industrialization, design for manufacturability (DFM), and design for assembly (DFA).
  • Experience with manufacturing test systems, automation equipment, production software, and engineering change management processes.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience with manufacturing automation, vision systems, smart tooling, robotics, or Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in power electronics, industrial electronics, battery charging systems, power conversion equipment, or related industries.
  • Experience with manufacturing software development, automated test systems, and data acquisition platforms.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SyteLine for BOM management, item masters, engineering changes, and manufacturing planning.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience managing capital equipment projects and departmental budgets.


Location: Longmont, CO


Base Compensation: $125,000 - $146,000 is the projected annual base salary range for this role and will be determined on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.

Bonus: This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
