Job description

We're looking for Event Manager professionals to join our team in Girdwood, Alaska.
What You'll Do
As an Event Manager you will provide total guest satisfaction for all local and group related functions by ensuring consistent product to standards, while maximizing profitability and protecting the integrity of the guest experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Responsible for banquet business and ensuring customer satisfaction with all functions.
  • Onsite liaison with clients to ascertain their precise event requirements.
  • Co-coordination of venue, contractors, and equipment hire.
  • Co-coordinating staffing requirements and staff briefings.
  • Handling client queries on the day and troubleshooting exhibitor and visitor problems.
  • Overseeing the dismantling and removal of the event and clearing the venue efficiently.
  • Post-event evaluation (including data entry, analysis, and reports for event management).
  • Coordinates and supervises the execution of all banquet functions to ensure clients' specifications are adhered to.
  • Should have the ability to perform all positions in banquet operations in order to supervise, direct, and train all banquet personnel.
  • Complete daily reports, assist in preparing departmental budget.

What We Need
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or University program; or prior related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior hotel sales, marketing, and catering experience is strongly preferred.
  • Must be PC proficient (Microsoft Office) and able to prepare reports as assigned.
  • Knowledge of Opera account management software preferred,
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Three years' experience in Food and Beverage management with a strong knowledge of restaurant operation preferred.
  • Prior experience in a dining server position.
  • Good working knowledge of wines and spirits.
  • Position requires the ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, including regular extended shifts, weekend, and evening work.
