Job description

Richland Library is seeking to hire a Full-Time Teen Center Librarian at our Main location.Sample Duties:
  • This position will assist customers with finding and using library materials and spaces effectively, provide readers’ advisory and maintain in-depth knowledge of Teen Center collections

  • Assist in the maintenance of teen spaces

  • Work with finance software to order and ensure correct delivery of supplies

  • Assist with maintenance and development of teen collections.

  • Collaborate with other departments and outside agencies

  • Deliver high-quality customer service to customers of all ages

  • Ensure appropriate use of age-restricted spaces within library

  • Arrange and deliver presentations, visits, and outreach efforts

  • Contribute to ongoing evaluation of teen space in light of teen needs and customer feedback

  • Develop and implement programming for teens, students, and families

  • Supervise staff and spaces in absence of higher-level supervisors

  • Assist with development and delivery of staff training materials

Requirements:
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS)

    PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

    MLIS degree supplemented by related experience.

Salary range: $41,925 - $69,876 per year excellent benefits.  

Hours: 37.5 hours per week plus rotating weekends:

Monday (12:00 pm - 8:00 pm), Tuesday - Thursday (9:00 am - 5:30 pm), Friday (9:00 am - 6:00 pm); Every 4th Weekend Saturday (9:00 am - 6:00 pm) and Sunday (1:45 pm - 6:00 pm).

Job Classification Level 111 (FLSA Status: Non-Exempt)

** Richland Library may change location and schedule of any library job.
