Provides legal and administrative support to multiple attorneys in the Office of Legal Affairs, including document management, claims processing, legal correspondence, and litigation management.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
  • Education
    Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration or a related field or certification as paralegal from a recognized entity (e.g., Texas Board of Legal Specialization (or other state equivalent), National Federation of Paralegal Associations, National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA)
  • Experience
    1 year Of experience in legal setting
JOB DUTIES
  • Performs intake and processing of all requests received from outside attorneys, in coordination with Medical Risk Management attorneys.
  • Handles credentialing requests from other health care and licensing entities and accurately answers general malpractice insurance plan questions.
  • Coordinates attorney calendars and scheduling for meetings, depositions, court appearances, and litigation deadlines.
  • Maintains internal litigation hold system and coordinates gathering potentially responsive material, evidence, and information from internal and external sources.
  • Maintains and monitors claim and litigation case files and legal correspondence.
  • May provide working supervision to administrative staff to ensure smooth department workflow.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
