Job description

Put Your Sewing Skills to Work Creating Premium Furniture.
Are you an experienced upholstery sewer who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and precise work?
Stickley is hiring a skilled Upholstery Sewer to join our manufacturing team in Archdale, NC. You will sew fabric and leather upholstery covers for premium, custom furniture using industrial sewing equipment and proven upholstery techniques.
Your work directly affects the fit, appearance, comfort, and quality of furniture built to last for generations.
What You'll Do
  • Sew fabric and leather upholstery covers for custom furniture
  • Operate double-needle industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently
  • Read production tickets, specifications, and special instructions
  • Complete fabric layouts, including COM, center-cut, flow-matched, plain, and leather covers
  • Sew accurate flow-matched and center-matched covers
  • Create corners and maintain proper one-inch seams
  • Thread sewing machines and safely change needles
  • Use sewing machines, scissors, and other tools safely
  • Inspect completed work for quality, fit, and accuracy
  • Meet production goals while maintaining Stickley's craftsmanship standards
  • Follow safety, quality, and work procedures
  • Work with team members to support daily production needs
What You'll Bring
  • 3 or more years of upholstery sewing experience with fabric and/or leather
  • Experience sewing fine or custom furniture preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a double-needle industrial sewing machine
  • Knowledge of upholstery sewing, fabric layout, center matching, and flow matching
  • Ability to read and follow production tickets and work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work at a steady, productive pace while maintaining accuracy
  • Dependability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic
