Wieland is hiring a Lab Technician. The Lab Technician will be responsible for generating and recording specific testing data to support incoming inspection, in-process inspection, and all other special testing circumstances. This role is located in Shelbyville and will be fully on-site. 

Starting Pay: $21.00

Schedule: Rotating 12-hour Shifts

  • Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Pay Schedule: Weekly


Lab Technician Responsibilities:

  • Conducting metallurgical testing and analysis of metals and alloys
  • Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment such as spectrometers, hardness testers, and microscopes
  • Ensuring all laboratory procedures comply with industry standards and safety regulations
  • Generate and record specific testing data to support incoming inspection, in-process inspection, and all other special testing circumstances
  • Record this data on the computer system
  • Facilitate our hand measuring equipment calibration other computer related services as necessary

Lab Technician Qualifications:

  • A quick learner, the ability to work with little to no supervision.
  • Safely and efficiently performs all essential functions of the job
  • Develop and maintain accurate written records
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions
  • Proficient in mathematics and measurement
  • Strong leadership abilities as demonstrated by past work experience or activities
