Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment in accordance with healthcare standards- Accurately complete all required records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing- Explain procedures to patients to promote comfort and trust during the blood draw process- Demonstrate leadership and process excellence in daily tasks, while upholding confidentiality and accuracy of patient information
Required Skills
- Strong phlebotomy skills across diverse patient groups, including pediatric and geriatric patients- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction- Proficiency in keyboard/data entry for record keeping and documentation- Ability to perform quality work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment is a plus- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed- Strong organization and attention to detail to ensure error-free specimen collection and data entry
