In this role, you'll work alongside a diverse community of artists, leading classes, sharing techniques, and helping individuals grow their skills and confidence. Experience in jewelry making or mixed media is a plus!

What You'll Do

Teach, Create, Inspire

  • Lead fun and engaging classes, workshops, and one-on-one lessons
  • Create simple, clear lesson plans with goals that help artists grow
  • Try new ideas and develop fresh curriculum to keep things exciting
  • Support artists in building skills, exploring new techniques, and expressing themselves
  • Adapt your teaching style to meet each artist where they are


Support Artists

  • Build meaningful, respectful relationships with artists of all ages and abilities
  • Support confidence, independence, and creativity
  • Assist with commissioned artwork from start to finish
  • Help artists who want to sell their work with basic marketing ideas
  • Navigate challenges with patience, empathy, and professionalism
  • Provide encouragement, emotional support, and guidance when needed
  • Keep up with documentation and communicate updates with the team
  • Help develop and support person-centered goals for artists
  • Participate in planning meetings and documentation (we'll train you!)
  • Keep records organized, accurate, and up to date


Be Part of the Gallery & Community

  • Help share the amazing work of our artists with the public
  • Support gallery sales, displays, and inventory
  • Prepare, set up and work at various events.


What You Bring

  • Strong skills in your art medium (and a love for sharing it!)
  • A BA or MA degree in art or a related field (preferred, but not required)
  • Teaching experience is preferred
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is a plus
  • Clear communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
  • A valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Evening and weekend availability is a must

Position Details

Salary:$23.54/hour (guaranteed 37 hours/week)with range up to 40 Hours/week
Incentives and pay increases after 1 and on every odd year.
