The instructor will foster creativity, fine motor skill development, and artistic expression in a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment aligned with the mission and values of the Fine Arts Association.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement creative, age-appropriate curriculum in jewelry making with a focus on pony bead designs and introductory jewelry techniques for students ages 6 through high school.
Teach a variety of jewelry-making methods, including pony bead crafting, stringing, pattern design, color theory application, simple wire work, and basic accessory construction (bracelets, necklaces, keychains, and charms).
Demonstrate proper use of jewelry-making tools and materials, including beads, stringing materials, clasps, and simple shaping tools asappropriate.
Guidestudents in designing original bead patterns, including symmetry, sequencing, and color coordination using pony beads and similar materials.
Adapt projects to meet developmental needs and skill levels of young children through high school students.
Foster a creative and encouraging classroom environment that promotes imagination, patience, and self-expression.
Provide individualized instruction, support, and constructive feedback to help students build confidence and develop artistic skills.
Prepare lesson plans, organize materials, andmaintaina clean, safe, and well-managed classroom environment.
Supervise students during classes, workshops, camps, exhibitions, andspecial eventsto ensure safety andappropriate behavior.
Ensure safe handling of small materials such as beads, cords, and findings, particularly for younger age groups.
Maintain inventory of jewelry-making supplies and communicate material needs to appropriate staff.
Assistwith preparation and display of student work for exhibitions,showcases, and community events.
Maintain attendance records and other documentation as required by the Fine Arts Association.
Participate in staff meetings,trainings, and professional development opportunities as requested.
Support the mission, values, policies, and procedures of the Fine Arts Association.

Qualifications
High school diplomarequired; post-secondary education in art education, craft arts, jewelry design, or related field preferred.
Experience teaching or working with children and adolescents in arts, crafts, or educational settings preferred.
