Position Announcement
Utah Valley University (UVU) is seeking 8 friendly and creative Face Painters to represent e2i at the Utah County Fair. As a Face Painter, you will use a pre-established menu of designs and stencils to create fun, memorable experiences for fair attendees, primarily children. No prior face painting experience is required, but a positive attitude and basic artistic ability are a must. Team members will be paid $15 per hour.
Important Availability Requirement:Applicants must be available July 29th through August 1st, 2026.
Please note: This is an event-specific role. Employment is limited to the dates listed above. However, based on performance, team members may be eligible to work on future e2i projects.
About e2i:
Education 2 Impact (e2i) offers students the opportunity to work within interdisciplinary teams while gaining paid, hands-on experience. Projects are provided by companies or entrepreneurial UVU students, and teams are assembled to work under the guidance of a student project manager to complete these projects-mirroring real-world industry practices.
This is an excellent opportunity for students currently studying Art & Design, Illustration, Theatre Arts, or a related field to gain valuable professional experience working in a multi-disciplinary team.
Summary of Responsibilities
  • Paint the faces of fair attendees (primarily children) using a pre-established menu of designs and stencils, maintaining consistency and quality across all designs.
  • Maintain a welcoming, patient, and engaging demeanor with children and their accompanying adults throughout the event.
  • Manage your own queue of guests in an organized and fair manner to minimize wait times.
  • Follow proper sanitation and hygiene protocols-including cleaning brushes and replacing sponges-between each guest.
  • Communicate promptly with event coordinators if supplies are running low or any issues arise.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
  • Must be a current student at Utah Valley University, preferably studying Art & Design, Illustration, Theatre Arts, or a related field.
  • Some basic artistic ability or experience with crafts, drawing, or similar creative work.
  • Prior face painting experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Comfort working directly with young children and their families in a public setting.
Preferred Major(s): Art & Design, Illustration, Theatre Arts, or a related field (degree-seeking student preferred)
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, outdoor fair environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Availability on required event dates is non-negotiable.
