What is a weekend insurance?

A Weekend Insurance job typically refers to a position within the insurance industry where employees work primarily on weekends. These roles can include customer service representatives, claims processors, or sales agents who assist clients with insurance inquiries, process claims, or sell policies during weekend hours. Weekend Insurance jobs are ideal for those seeking flexible work schedules or supplementary income. Employers often seek candidates with strong communication skills and a basic understanding of insurance products.

What are the typical responsibilities and challenges faced by someone working in a weekend insurance role?

In a weekend insurance role, professionals are typically responsible for providing customer service, processing claims, and handling policy inquiries during non-traditional business hours. One common challenge is managing urgent client requests and emergencies with limited access to in-office resources or colleagues. To thrive as a Weekend Insurance Agent, you need strong sales acumen, knowledge of insurance products, and typically a valid state insurance license. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software, quoting tools, and industry-specific platforms is crucial. Job description

About the Role
Every bottle that hits a shelf, every case that lands on a store floor - it started with someone in our warehouse the night before, building it right. As an Order Picker on VED's evening shift, you are the first link in a chain that ends with cold product in the hands of customers across Virginia. You don't see the end result directly, but the delivery team does. The accounts do. And on a good night, when the orders go out clean and on time, the whole operation runs the way it's supposed to.
Our warehouse associates work hard, move fast, and hold themselves to a high standard of accuracy. If you take pride in doing physical work well, thrive in a team environment that counts on you, and want to be part of a company that's been moving beverage across Virginia for decades - we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
  • Pick and build delivery route orders using the EasyPick scanning system (handheld scanner and tablet), stacking cases accurately in layers for safe transport and clean delivery; pick sheets may be used as directed
  • Verify order accuracy using EasyPick two-step scan verification; confirm case counts throughout the build and sign off on completed orders
  • Operate electric walk-behind and walk/ride (walkie-rider) pallet jacks to move and stage completed orders
  • Operate sit-down forklift as needed (certification required within 90 days of hire if not yet certified)
  • Assist with loading delivery trucks at end of shift and perform end-of-shift warehouse cleanup
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with VED and OSHA standards
  • Cross-train in other warehouse functions and provide coverage as needed

What We're Looking For
  • Ability to lift and carry 15-40+ lbs repeatedly throughout a 10-15 hour shift, with frequent bending, reaching, and standing - this is a physically demanding role
  • Sharp attention to detail: accurate case counts and correct order builds are how we measure success
  • Basic math skills: ability to count and verify case quantities throughout the shift
  • Ability to safely operate electric pallet jacks; forklift certification a plus
  • Reliable attendance - your team depends on you showing up, every shift, on time
  • Comfortable working in a high-noise, temperature-controlled environment (approx. 50ยฐF in the warehouse; outdoor temps in drive-thru areas)
  • Composite-toe footwear required on day one

What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly pay: $17.00-$21.00 (evening shift rate, includes $1.00/hr shift differential)
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-paid short-term and long-term disability
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • Safe Harbor 401(k)
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • Uniforms provided
